I only read the newest chapter. Are there two sons of the elder Mr. Darcy, or was Elizabeth in love with Mr. Darcy, senior? I don’t want to read all of the current story, just in case I win it.

    1. No, it gets a little confusing with the names. George Darcy, Senior, had two sons: Fitzwilliam, the elder, and George, the younger. Elizabeth grew up as old Mr. Darcy’s ward, and had a sweet childhood crush on young George.

    1. You know she won’t be able to stay away!

Gushing – omg, I can’t wait!! I hope our dear girl isn’t let down too hard, before she bounces back again 😉

    1. It might be a bit of a slap to the face, sadly. But you know how her courage rises!

I could feel Elizabeth’s confusion and heartache when she was sent away from Pemberly. I truly feel for her.

    1. Poor girl! I know, right?

Oh dear! I imagine Elizabeth’s main disappointment will be learning of George’s engagement! 😢. I do hope she is welcomed at Pemberley still and that Fitzwilliam is kind to her (especially as they must eventually fall in love?) I’m still desperate to know who her parents are 😳 I think chapter 20 should be next 🙏🥰

    1. Hahaha! You know Fitzwilliam. He’ll put his foot in it before he figures out how to get it right.

Woah! Interesting twist. When I read ‘girl next door’ in the title, I assumed Longbourn & Netherfield. Can’t wait to see what happens next and for your book to finally release!

    1. It’s ALMOST here, Brittney! <3

I have been reading these chapters, and very much enjoying this new plot line. However it started sounding familiar, but outside the P&P variation realm….
I finally figured if out, if reminds me of the movie Sabrina, in particular the quote that comes to mind is, “There was a marriage. There was a merger. You got in the way.”
don’t know if that will hold up through the rest if the book, I look forward to reading this one, to find out.

There are a few similarities, you’re right. But trust Darcy to put his foot in his mouth in his own special way. 😛

I love the covers in this series.

  1. After reading this excerpt, now I know that Elizabeth did not know the actual reason why she was sent away from Pemberley. This has answered my earlier question that I have when I read the beginning chapters. I really feel for her and hope she discover this family secret soon and she won’t put the blame on herself because it’s not her fault.
