Hello Everyone!
My name is Summer Hanford, and I was recently invited to join the wonderful community of Austen Variations. I’m very excited to be here!
You may know me from some of my solo work, like Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop, or (more likely) from my years of working with Renata McMann, with whom I’ve co-authored quite a few novels, novellas, and short stories over the past decade (‘quite a few’ is my way of saying that I’m too lazy to go over to our website and count).
And if you do not know me from either, it’s very nice to meet you. I look forward to becoming better acquainted.
I also look forward to learning how I will fit into this vibrant community of Austenesque writers, and to learning how I can add to the wonderful collaborations and celebrations that Austen Variations regularly brings to you. I’m certain, with the Yuletide Season already upon us, that I’ll find out soon.
Wishing you all happiness, joy, and the best reading possible,
Summer

Hi Robin! Thank you 🙂
Welcome! Coincidentally before this announcement I read a Caroline book preview on Kindle that you wrote with Renata. Your books look interesting so I might purchase some. (Especially since my mind can’t make up what it wants for Christmas).

Hi Rebecca! Thank you. Don’t worry, Renata and I aren’t done writing together. She has a manuscript waiting for me, just as soon as I finish my current solo variation.
I love your books, anything you have touched. So I am grateful to be able to welcome you here.

Lol Thank you!
It’s lovely to see you on this site. I’ve read many of your books and I must say that Mr Darcy’s Bookshop was wonderful, although I admit I cried at Darcys situation, I felt so, so sorry for him. Thank goodness for Elizabeth and his cousins.

I’m so glad you enjoyed Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop, Glynis. I didn’t mean to make you cry over poor Mr. Darcy, with his one blanket, and winter nearly upon him, and barely enough money to buy tea.
welcome & look forward for what you have to share

Hello Summer! I have read a few of your books including your collaborations. I love the Mr. Darcy’s Bookstore. I love the Anne DeBourgh series…Anne as an Hoyden, I love it! I look forward to more !
Author
Thank you so much, and thank you for giving Anne’s stories a try. I do hope to write another novella about her. Now that she’s saved Richard from disaster, we need to hear about how she saves Darcy from marrying her and convinces him that he should cut all ties and go to London (from her point of view, it is all her idea, of course!)
Welcome! I have read many of your co-authored books with Renata McMann, and enjoyed. Looking forward to more books!
Author
Hi Liz! Thank you so much. Don’t worry, Renata is only waiting for me to finish my Bennet Gang book and then we’ll be working on another together.
Welcome, Summer! I’ve read all of your Austenesque fiction and many of your books in other genres. You’ll fit right in here with this group of stellar authors.

Thank you. That’s very kind of you to say!
I enjoyed Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop. It was an interesting twist looking at what if the elder women in Darcy’s life had passed, but not the women.
