The Magic of Pemberley is coming soon!

For some reason I’ve been nervous about saying much about The Magic of Pemberley, the second book of my Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage trilogy. Maybe it’s because I’ve heard so many authors say that the second book of a trilogy is the hardest and takes the longest. I got around some of that by not releasing the first book, Spellbound at Pemberley, until I had almost half of Book 2 done. I wanted to be sure I could finish it for readers in a timely manner!

Now The Magic of Pemberley is done, with rave reviews from my beta readers, and I’m so excited about it! So why don’t I just release it this minute? The devil is in the details here –  finalizing the blurb and back matter, formatting the paperback and cover, waiting on one final copyedit, and finalizing the title of Book 3. And I’ll be out of the country for the first three weeks of September, which means that fixing any potential launch problems would be exponentially more difficult. So I’m playing it safe and waiting till I get home.

But you can pre-order it here! And I’ll be starting to post excerpts soon.

What can I tell you about The Magic of Pemberley? It starts immediately after Spellbound at Pemberley, as Darcy and Elizabeth learn more about the dragons of England. Then Darcy must go on his mission to France, where he discovers a crucial secret. Bad news: he can’t get back to England with the information. Good news: Elizabeth and Cerridwen are off to the rescue! This book is loaded with surprises, twists, and characters you love. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!

And I’m hard at work writing Book 3. I’m already 20K words into it – that’s almost a quarter of a book! – and I’m really excited about finally bringing all the pieces in the story back together again in one place. For now, the working title is The Guardians of Pemberley.

I hope you’ll check out The Magic of Pemberley!

I can’t always get posts from this site on my iPad for some mysterious reason???? So I’m on my phone. I’m eagerly awaiting book 2. I’m so happy that Darcy has Elizabeth on his side especially as it seems he definitely needs her.

    1. Elizabeth is definitely on Darcy’s side at this point, although there are some moments when she’s very annoyed with his autocratic ways! 🙂 He learns a few lessons in this book.

I am looking forward to reading this. Good luck with the release. I do so enjoy reading your stories.

    1. Thanks, Sheila!

  1. Ouch! I have been waiting, along with all the other loyal readers, for book 2 of 3. Much as I dislike reading series before they are done, I cannot resist your books. So… I reread book 1! Please enjoy your holiday and do what you need to do. We’ve waited this long….

    1. I’m so glad you re-read Spellbound! I’m hoping more readers do that, since it sets the stage for this new book. And I’m glad you’re reading along through the series. So far all my beta readers have been happy with the ending of this book.
