I did it! The Guardians of Pemberley, Book 3 of the Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage series, is finally here! And I’m doing a giveaway. 🙂
Here’s the blurb:
Escaping from France was just the beginning for Darcy. Now Pemberley itself is in danger from the Fae…
Mage Fitzwilliam Darcy is finally back at Pemberley and reunited with his beloved Elizabeth, only to find his formerly tranquil estate full of dragons and under attack by the terrifying High King of Faerie. With Napoleon’s invasion looming, Darcy must not only protect his family and his home, but also keep the truth about his time in France hidden from his wife, Elizabeth.
But Elizabeth has secrets of her own. Despite her joy over Darcy’s safe return and the birth of their daughter, her dragon, the Seer Cerridwen, warns that their future depends on Elizabeth’s dangerous Forbidden Talent. To protect England and their daughter, she must learn to wield this power, even if it means going against Darcy’s wishes. Even if it could have deadly consequences for both her and her dragon.
As they struggle to keep their secrets and work together to face a new enemy, their love and trust will be put to the ultimate test. Can they overcome their fears and save England, or will their secrets tear them apart?
If you enjoy enchanting fantasy, swoony romance, and Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, you won’t want to miss this thrilling sequel filled with magic, danger, and the timeless love story of Darcy and Elizabeth.
But there’s much more to the story! You’ll learn secrets about Lady Frederica Fitzwilliam, Darcy’s brother Jack, Lady Anne Darcy and more. All those hints in the first two books are coming home to roost!
The Guardians of Pemberley is the third book in the 4-book Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage series. I’d intended this to be a trilogy, but the story just wouldn’t allow it. There were so many fascinating things to explore, like the King of Faerie, the dragons, and most importantly, how Darcy and Elizabeth react to parenthood and all the things they’re learning. It is a love story, after all! Book 4, Triumph at Pemberley, is already available for pre-order.
Is the ending a cliff-hanger? Only in the sense that Napoleon is still not defeated and is going to invade soon, but Darcy and Elizabeth are together, in love, and knee deep in baby dragons.
If you’d like to win an ebook copy, leave me a comment with your favorite side character (and if you can’t remember, I listed some of them in this post). I’ll pick a name on Oct. 23.
I hope you’ll give this book a try! I’m very proud of this book, and I can’t wait to hear what you think!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Author
Thanks, Tere!
Darcy’s brother Jack
Author
Jack is amazing, yes! You’ll definitely need to read The Guardians of Pemberley, then, because this is where Jack really… um… um… [trying to avoid spoilers] steals the spotlight for a bit!
Congrats Abigail for reaching your goal!
I´m excited to hear the good news because I´m a big fan of dragon stories in Jane Austen´s world.
I have the first volume in my TBR so I think it´s time to start the series because Autumn is a perfect season for indulging in magic stories.
I love the covers too, they are so magical and charming! Do you participate in the making of the covers taking decisions of colours or scenarios or rather prefer to leave this matters to editors?
Thanks for the giveaway and good luck with the release!

Thanks! I agree this is a good time to start the book. The covers are by the amazing Karri Klawitter of Art by Karri (www.artbykarri.com). I splurged on these to go with an excellent designer because it’s so hard to do a cover that’s both magical and regency, and will appeal to fantasy readers as well. I give her some ideas – for Guardians I suggested including a gate rather than a building because gates (and Gates) play a large role in this book, and I gave her some stock photo examples. She comes up with the basic design concepts, then we go back and forth with how to fine-tune them, often to get the right feeling to them. I just love her work!
I have all your books and look forward to this series. I am waiting for it to be complete so I can read them all at once! Frederica Fitzwilliam is always a favorite of mine. I love fantasy mixed with romance so I know I will love these!

Frederica is such fun in this series! My critique partners keep asking for Frederica spin-off stories. 🙂
I love Frederica but there’s something about Rana that I find fascinating. Thank you for introducing us to this great cast of characters!
Author
Rana Akshaya is a very interesting character, even though she mystifies all the mortals around her. We’re going to get more of her in Book 4 – I wanted it to be in Book 3, but there wasn’t room. Too much excitement!
I am SO excited about this book that I am buying it today. Please do not enter me in the giveaway. ❤️

Thank you for your support! I hope you enjoy it.
Ceridwen is my favorite! Tied with Frederica.

Ooh, good choices!
Love this series.
Frederica is definitely my favourite side character! With Ceridwen of course…
Author
Thank you, Helen! Frederica always lightens up the page, doesn’t she? When I was first plotting out this series, Cerridwen was the first character who became real to me, outside our beloved P&P characters, of course!
Looking forward to your new book! Best Wishes!

Thanks so much, Jen!
That is a hard question… I always like Lady Fredrick but Rana Akshay is pretty amazing. So will have to go with her
Author
I’m fascinated that two people have now named Rana Akshaya! I’m definitely going to have to give her more page time in Book 4. 🙂
I love this series. I wish it didn’t take so long between publishing but definitely worth waiting for. Very well written with good storylines. Jack, Darcy’s brother, is one of my favorite lesser characters. Looking forward to finishing the series.
Author
Thank you, Anne! If you like Jack, you should be happy with this book, since a lot ends up revolving around him. 🙂
PS When will it come out as an audio? 🙃😊
Author
I don’t know for sure. Podium Audio is publishing the audiobook, and last time they took about 5 months to get it out. I’m hoping it’ll be faster this time!
YEAH! I can’t wait to read it. Will it also be coming out on audio?
Author
Yes, it will be in audio, but not as quickly as I like. It may not be till mid- to late winter, given the producer’s history.
Good luck with this release. Thanks for a chance to win a copy.
Looking forward to reading this! Lady Frederica is my favorite supporting character.
Sounds great, look forward to reading.
Congratulations on the release! I would have to go with Lady Frederica.
Oh, I can’t tell you any side character I like, because I haven’t read any of them yet. I’m waiting for all of them to be available, and them binge them all! But reading this post, I like to hear that FD has a brother. I look forward to reading why.
