Snowbound at Hartfield Book Launch

I am so excited to announce Snowbound at Hartfield has released ahead of schedule!

Snowbound at Hartfield

A Sweet Tea Novella

Sweet, Austen-inspired treats, perfect with a cup of tea. Full of hope and ripe with possibility, sweet tea tales refresh the heart with optimism and anticipation.

Snowbound at Hartfield

Colonel Fitzwilliam should have been happy facing retirement. No more Napoleon, no more tromping the Continent, and his distant cousin had unexpectedly left him an estate. What was more, two of his favorite people, Darcy and Elizabeth, were travelling with him to visit his new home.

But the colonel wasn’t happy, not when he was forced to watch Darcy exchanging enamored glances with his wife. No, he wanted to pitch his cousin out the window. It didn’t help when Darcy kept lecturing him on the joys of wedded life— as if women like Elizabeth Darcy grew on every tree.

Then the snow started.

Now they were stranded at the home of George and Emma Knightley, another intolerable, blissfully wedded couple who wanted nothing more than to see his bachelor days come to an end. Thank heavens they never thought of matching him with the proud spinster who had also been caught in the storm. That would have been utterly intolerable.

Or would it?

From the award winning author of Given Good Principles, Remember the Past and Mistaking Her Character, Sweet Tea short stories offer the perfect bite to transport readers back to the Regency era for the first days of new love.

Sound intriguing? Read the first few chapters HERE.  Find it on Amazon HERE.  It will also be on Nook, KOBO and Apple in the next few days.

I have been reading Snowbound at Hartfield with deep interest. Emma is one of my two top favorites of the Austen novels. it is always a pleasure to find a sequel that is based only partially on P&P. I knew that Colonel Fitzwilliam would eventually have an estate. The earldom he came from would make sure of it. They would have preferred that he marry one and since he knew that, he was careful of his own attraction to Elizabeth Bennet. Since the Elliot estate is entailed away from its daughters, marriage to the oldest Elliot daughter is financially not much better than a marriage to the second Miss Bennet. However Colonel Fitzwilliam is now older, he has an estate, and his military service means that he has won himself some space to choose for himself.Socially Elizabeth Eliot is a good match, most acceptable. If she has a boy child and Mr Elliot does not have issue ( I rather suspect he has a low sperm count and his relationship with Penelope Clay is not apt to produce offspring, legal or not), then Elizabeth and the colonel will inherit Kellynch Hall.

You have introduced a form of drama later reserved for American soap operA! This is a GOOD thing, as multiple individuals and multiple couples have their lives interwoven into unusual tapestries. Good work, Maria! I’m looking forward to more!

We here in Flagstaff are digging out from 37 inches of snow, so I understand the feeling of being snowbound! Lots of time to read, too!

I love your story! It is a fantastic idea that our favourite heroes from different JA books meet each other! We know them all, and it is really interesting how they get on with each other. I’ve checked out your other books, too. “I think this is a beginning of a beautiful friendship”:)
