Ship to Shore is officially available in audio! The talented Elizabeth Grace is narrating, and this is extra impressive as she is actually English, but she does a great job with an American accent – as you will see in the video below.
To celebrate the release, I’m giving away 3 audio codes to listen for free – just comment to be entered in the drawing. I’d love to know if you’ve read the book and whether or not you liked it, and of course what you would like to see in the sequel I am currently plotting.
Elizabeth has kindly recorded a video excerpt for you to get an idea of the story. Enjoy!
BLURB:
Dodging and weaving her mother’s attempts to get her married off and producing grandbabies as soon as possible, Maggie focuses on teaching and doing fun projects with her students—like sending a box of cards to anonymous soldiers for the holidays. She’s more than a little surprised when the receiving naval officer writes a proper thank-you letter.
The magic ensues when Maggie writes back. She sees her new pen pal as an innocent diversion—until he isn’t.
Lt. Commander F. Hawkins thinks he’s writing to a sweet little old woman. Little does he know that the woman sending him baked goods is going to capture his heart.
In a culture of online dating and hook-ups, Maggie and Hawkins find themselves transported through the old-fashioned act of letter-writing. His steadfast earnestness can’t help but appeal. Her charm and vivacity can’t fail to captivate.
They never stood a chance.

I have not read the book but loved “Green Card” and would thoroughly enjoy listening to your latest! Plus, Elizabeth is an expressive (and impressive!) narrator. Thanks for sharing this with us!
I know! I love her!!! I hope you like this one. 🙂
I have not read this yet…not sure how I missed it! Loved all of your other books both print and audio …can’t wait to listen!
How did you miss it?! 😆😆 I hope you like it!
Loved Elizabeth’s voice in this excerpt. I love the emotion!
Isn’t she amazing?!
Love the voice of Elizabeth Grace. Thanks for the chance in the giveaway for an audio code. I have the ebook in my TRP but have not had the chance to read it. Maybe better to listen to?
I think this particular book is especially entertaining in written form because there is a lot of formatting that you can’t really see in audio. We had to work around that in the audio production and get pretty creative. Might be worth listening just for that! 😆
Personally, I hop back and forth between audio and ebooks.
For Green Card, I would definitely say go with the audio first if that’s your reading preference.
I haven’t read it yet but am glad for the audio version so I can enjoy it while working from home!

Sounds like a great way to work from home! 🙂 Elizabeth’s voice is positively swoony. When I listened to her doing Will’s voice in Green Card, I thought she was a man. I was shocked by how immersed I became.
So happy to see this released on audio.

I hope you like it!
This is one of my favorites! I read this once a month!
That makes me ridiculously happy to hear!
Thanks for the sample! I read the book when it first came out…just long enough ago that the story will seem new.
Perfect timing then! 😆
I was lucky enough to receive an audiobook code for Ship to Shore, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The characters are so sweet and, more importantly, real. Like Green Card, Elizabeth’s narration is superb!
Yay!! I’m so glad you liked it!
I love Elizabeth’s characterisations. Smith audio book to add to my ‘must listen’ list. Thank you!
She is amazing! I’m so thrilled I found her!
Elizabeth, I haven’t yet had a chance to read “Ship to Shore” but, since I have loved all your JAFF books, I am looking forward to meeting some of your contemporary characters. “S to S” is fastly moving up my “next to read” list and an audio version would be great so I could finish knitting the afghan I promised my niece (two years ago!!) at the same time — two birds with one stone, as it were. Do please keep writing as your books have given me hours of reading and listening pleasure. I think “On Equal Ground” is in the top five of my favourite JAFF books EVER, and Stevie Zimmerman’s narration is spot-on.
Thank you! It’s always so nice to hear that someone enjoys my books. Good luck in the giveaway! Your niece needs that Afghan! 😁
I enjoyed Ship to Shore! Maggie and Hawkins are wonderfully matched, full of endearing awkwardness, fun and banter… and the romance…sigh. Your book and Elizabeth’s spot on narration are sure to be an amazing combination.Team Elizabeth!! Will the great short story at the end be narrated also?
Ship to Shore begged for a continuation and I’m thrilled to know you are writing it. Need to know: sister and shipmate? Rebecca’s reckoning….her husband’s karma? I will love to check in on them again!
I’m so glad you like the book! Firstly, yes the short story is narrated and I think it is hysterical so I hope you like it, too. Secondly, working on the sequel and I would love to hear any ideas you have. Feel free to message me on Facebook or email me. There are some plans for Davis (the shipmate), but not everything is flushed out just yet.
Congratulations Ms Adams on having this as an audiobook!!!
Such a great treat for your folowers
Thanks for your generosity here.
