A sparkling tale of Regency England, a forced marriage, and two magicians who must work together to save the Kingdom.
Elizabeth Bennet is stunned when the Royal Mages come to her peaceful country home of Longbourn to take her away. She is even more bewildered when she is commanded to marry a powerful mage by the name of Fitzwilliam Darcy. She has always dreamed of marrying for love, and an arranged marriage with an arrogant stranger was never part of her plans.
But Darcy and Elizabeth have no choice in the matter. Uniting their two forms of magic is essential if the Kingdom is to defeat Napoleon’s mages. They may dislike each other on sight, but Darcy and Elizabeth have to overcome their differences and find common ground before it is too late. Fortunately, it is not long before the sparks begin to fly between them.

Well! I feel sorry for Darcy at the moment as he obviously thinks he loves Anne (thankfully he will realise his true love is Elizabeth eventually?)
I feel sorry for Anne as she thought her future was settled with Darcy and she seems to care for him.
I also feel sorry for Elizabeth as she doesn’t seem to like Darcy and on top of that I’ve no doubt that Lady Catherine will make sure she knows that she’s not his choice.
The person I don’t feel sorry for is Lady Catherine! She obviously can’t accept Darcy’s reasons and is out to try and cause trouble as usual!
I’m looking forward to reading this and thank you for sharing this deleted chapter.

Hehehe! You do find a way to feel sorry for most of the characters, Glynis, but you’re right. This is not a good situation for any of them. No sympathy at all for Lady Catherine?
Thanks for the bonus chapter. I loved the book. Please tell me that there will soon be a sequel. I really want to know how this storyline ends.

I’m aiming for October, Robin, but I can’t promise! Happy you enjoyed the novel!!!
Loved this missing chapter. Waiting for book two! Thanks.

Thanks Jennifer!! Thank you for stopping by.
Poor Anne. I do hope she finds someone. What a wonderful missing chapter and I thank you for it! I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for book two!

Lovely of you to say so, Carole!!
What a dilemma you’ve created for Darcy! I like this take on Anne, though of course it’s painful to see her distress at learning she and Darcy will not marry. Hopefully their love is more familial than romantic, and Anne will find some happiness of her own (in whatever form that takes). Thanks for sharing this deleted scene, Monica!

Poor Anne doesn’t get much attention in canon, so we never know how she feels about Darcy. I wanted her to have a (brief) moment in the spotlight. Thank you for sharing your perspective, Christina, and welcome to Austen Variations!
I read and thoroughly enjoyed this book. There hasn’t been time to write a considered review, but that’s on my agenda. Thank you for this extra chapter.

I’m really pleased to here it, and than you for planning a review. As you know, reviews are very important to authors!!!
I enjoyed the insights from the deleted chapter. Thanks for sharing!

A pleasure, Katie!!!
Ouch! I know it hurts that you had to cut that chapter and watch it flutter to the cutting room floor. However, hard decisions have to be made. Wow! It was still a powerful chapter. Blessings on the success of this work. I LOVED it. Stay safe and healthy.

Yes, it was painful to cut this one, but it did need to go! But I got to share it with you, so that makes me happy. 🙂 I appreciate your kind words, Jeannette!
This scene explains much about the motivations of events in the novel (which I am tempted to reread already as I enjoyed it soooo much the first time through). Such a compelling book, and why I can understand why this scene was cut in the final draft, reading it makes the final pennies drop as to his initial rather fierce treatment of Elizabeth. Thank you for sharing this scene, Monica!! 😀
Warmly,
Susanne 🙂

That was what I was thinking when I decided to share it. While it isn’t essential to the novel, it does provide yet another reason for Darcy’s attitude. I mulled over it for some time before deciding it wasn’t essential for the plot. Thanks for your feedback, Susanne! 🙂
I read and enjoyed this story.

As always — thank you for your support, Sheila! 🙂

A pleasure, DarcyBennet, and many thanks for touring along with me! 🙂
I haven’t read the book or any chapters that may have been posted, but this chapter has certainly peaked my interest. Always good to have a background. I’ll definetly go check it out.
I’m not sure how publishing goes but adding a deleted scenes would be nice 🤷♀️.
Author
I’m glad that reading the background peaked your interest, Katherine! As for adding deleted scenes — I’ll have to think about that one, but it’s a nice idea.
I did enjoy that chapter.

Thank you, denise, and thank you for joining me on the blog tour. 😉
I love deleted scenes and outtakes. Thank you for sharing this gem! Enjoyed the entire book so much😊

Isn’t it great to get a glimpse into an outtake? I always love the directors’ cuts — or used to, when I used to buy DVDs! At this point I’m not even sure my DVD player still works!
So pleased you enjoyed both the chapter and the book!!!
Great chapter (ought to have left it in!). I truly enjoyed this story, so different and yet so similar to canon. A refreshing change to the majority of what is out there as P&P tributes. Looking forward to the continuation of the story.

You think so? Maybe I should have. It was an emotional scene for me to write, so I did have a hard time letting go of it, but the pace of the novel was smoother without it. I’m really happy you enjoyed the change. 🙂
