Howdy from my corner of the world! How is everyone holding up this blustery December? Our weather here in Western Oregon has been predictably wet. Gray. Cold. But mostly wet. Sigh.
Which is why I have been enjoying working on this bit of fluff this winter as a diversion from all things gray and yucky. Don’t expect this book to contain anything serious or profound. If it does, it was an accident, I swear. But it’s also longer than my typical Alix James novellas, which usually top out at about 20-30,000 words. This one will round out at about 50,000. That’s fun for everyone, right? More swoony time!
However, it also means Darcy and Elizabeth haven’t met yet. They’re both still wrestling with family stuff. So, how about a bonus today? I’ll be sharing two chapters, bringing our dear couple within arm’s reach of each other by the end of the day. I promise it will be worth the wait when Elizabeth finally gets her hands on Darcy. And I mean that literally.
Enjoy watching Darcy change from Mr. Responsible to Mr. Desperate in like… a chapter! You can catch up with previous chapters below:
The book is on preorder now to go live on December 26!
Excerpt redacted in advance of publication. My apologies!

Well, there you have it! They’re about to crash into each other, and fireworks shall ensue. I’ll be back next week with the final pre-launch post. Once the book goes live, I’ll pull down everything but Chapter One in accordance with Amazon’s digital sharing policies.

Thank you, Sam!
Oh dear! It must be an exceptionally large screen 🤔😉. How Bingley manages to keep control of anything is beyond me! (Well thinking about it he obviously doesn’t! 😂)
I can’t wait for the encounter between Darcy and Elizabeth 💋💋💋!

Bingley is a cutie pie. Darcy… well, bet you never thought he’d hide in a fireplace, did you?
It sounds absolutely deligthful and just the thing to lighten this grey, cold and very wet December here in France. And to lighten my mood as well. Mr Darcy…. breaking into mansions…. hiding behind a screen…. Sounds delightful…. but I have said that already 🙂

Sounds like your winters are about like ours, Nathalie! I hope this one makes you giggle a little! There is absolutely nothing serious about it.
