FREE Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop!

Hello Everyone!

I’m here to tell you about BookBub Deals… Well, sort of. There is this thing called a BookBub Deal (many of you have probably heard about it), and it’s meant to be a very wonderful thing for an author to get (you have to apply, sort of like a mini-resume, and assure them of your book’s merit). Now, I’ve never managed to get a BookBub Deal before, and now I have, so this is very exciting. I’m exceedingly interested in the results, insofar as reaching more people with my brand of slightly off-the-wall variations.

But none of that is truly here nor there. The real point is, Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop is free today, and I hope you will pick up a copy.

As an aside, over on Amazon UK, Dishonorable Gentlemen is a Kindle Deal, and is on sale for £0.99 (which I think is said, ‘ninety-nine pence,’ but I really don’t know for sure…I’d love if someone would tell me).

So, to sum up, today and tomorrow (September 29th and 30th) you can get Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop from any Amazon store for free (at least, it should be ‘any’…sometimes the way Amazon does things is confusing) and if you use Amazon UK, you can also get Dishonorable Gentlemen for only £0.99.

Oh, and don’t forget, when (if) you grab Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop for free, Amazon might go ahead and offer you a discount on the audiobook. As that features both Stevie Zimmerman and Benjamin Fife, and is really quite good, it’s something to keep in mind (again, I have no idea how Amazon decides if they offer you that deal or not, so we can only hope!) Sadly, the audiobook for Dishonorable Gentlemen isn’t out yet, but it should be in October. Fingers crossed!

Have a great day! ~ Summer

    Hi Summer,
You´re really generous, thank you so much! In fact I also have these two books, “dishonorable” in kindle and “bookshop” in paperback but I think it´s great for people to take advantage today to get them freely (or almost freely LOL). I hope to read “Mr Darcy´s bookshop” any time soon because I have it in mind for Rita´s BINGO 🙂

    1. Hi Teresa,

Thank you so much for getting both books! (Or do I mean having?) Actually, that is part of why the BookBub deal is interesting to me. My thinking is that pretty much everyone who wants “Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop,” has “Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop.” Maybe not 100% of people, because there are things like hours in the day, and budgets, but most of the people.

On the other hand, maybe the deal will find new people, and bring them into our wonderful world of Austenesque Fiction, and they will be entranced!

I’m interested to find out, although uncertain if I’ll ever have a definitive answer. I guess we will see.

Have a lovely day, and I hope you do read “Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop” soon (and enjoy it!)

      Summer

      P.S. Yay JAFF Bingo!! 🙂

    Hi Summer,

Thank you very much for the free copy of Mr Darcy’s Bookshop. I already have Dishonourable Gentlemen, although I haven’t read it yet.

£0.99 is formally pronounced “ninety-nine pence” but everyone says “ninety-nine p” instead, p being short for pence. It used to be more common for price tags to be marked 99p rather than 0.99.

I look forward to reading your books. Thank you!

    1. Hi Jo,

Thank you for the answer. Should I have written it “99p” instead? I know this seems like a silly detail, but is that a lowercase “p” or an uppercase one? I think the font we use on the website is placing the “99” lower on the line, making it look the same height as the “p” even though the “p” is lowercase, but I’m not totally sure.

I think I will say “ninety-nine pence” for now, as I would feel odd trying to speak local jargon. You know, like I’m trying a little too hard.

When you do read Dishonorable Gentlemen, and Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop, I really hope you enjoy them. Thank you for getting copies.

      1. Hi Summer! £0.99 and 99p are both correct. The p for pence is lower case. Would cents be displayed in the same way, i.e. lower case?

        1. Hi Ceri 🙂

Yes, I’m sure that cents is lowercase. Although, I think technically, there is that ‘cent’ symbol? This one: ¢

I think lowercase ‘c’ is also correct, though. I can’t imagine anyone minding it. ’99p’ still looks like a secret code to me, rather than a price. It really might be the font on the website, though, making the ’99’ sit lower that creates that feeling.

Thank you for the answer about the ‘p’ in 99p. Next time I’ll put that on some of the graphics, to mix it up with the £0.99. I always worry that just having the pound symbol makes things seem more expensive.

          Have a lovely day,

          Summer

I already bought the book, several months ago, and enjoyed it very much. It was a different twist on the Darcy variations than I expected, but I was delightfully surprised.

    1. Thank you for getting it. I’m very happy you enjoyed it.

Mr. Darcy’s Bookshop is a completely honest, human book. It tells of a poor Mr. Darcy who consistently chooses to do the right and honorable thing even when unbearable pressure is brought on him by his elder brother and George Wickham. I’d be proud to know the man and to support his bookshop. Elizabeth shows up too, and that only makes it better. I like to re-read good stories and I’ve read this four times. The first and second times were through Kindle Unlimited, but then I bought the book. Now that it’s free I’m still glad I bought the book and authors like Summer should be supported as best we can. Thanks!
