Advent Calendar Day 9- Test your Jane Austen Knowledge!

December is certainly going by at a breakneck pace! I know I speak for all of us at Austen Variations when I say I hope our little daily offerings have been a bright spot–personally I have needed that in these crazy times in which we live!

Many thanks to those of you who comments on my last Advent post, the deleted scene from A Wilful Misunderstanding. The winner from that drawing is TC. TC I will email you so you can collect your prize!!

I am a fan of crossword puzzles although honestly I am world-class terrible at them, so my offering today is just that — a crossword! Hope you will have fun doing it, if you are so inclined. Its not an online crossword–sorry that is above my technical capabilities–but a download and get out your pencil type crossword. (or your pen if you are the bold sort)

I am not good at crosswords at all. I can never get in the head of the creator of puzzles of this type. My mother LOVED them and I just never got the hand of them. However, in looking over the questions, I knew far more than I realized. I was quite pleased. I’ll have to print this out and see how I do. Thanks for sharing this with us. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to all in the manner in which you celebrate. Blessings, everyone. Stay safe and healthy during the holidays.

Thank you Jeanne! And I hope you give it a try, I think most of us probably know these although I DID try to throw in a few that were tougher!

And will a later window on our Austen Variations Advent calendar give the answers, in case we have trouble with this? At first glance I think I’ll be fine, but who knows?

    1. Good thinking Beatrice! I have updated my post to include a link to the answer key for those who might get stuck! Should have done that in the first place 😉

Having a problem getting this to print – I always asks me to name and save it…which I thought I had done but can’t find it in my documents, now. I do crosswords often but not the New York Times sort – you have to know international landmarks, currency, etc. for those types of puzzles.

    1. Sheila I think it works better if you click the link instead of the picture? If not I can email it to you!

Love the quizzes and all kind of” trivial pursuit” and “test your knowledges” games so thank you for the occasion to impress myself further (yes, conceited creature here! was there any wonder?) :-))

Thank you and looking forward for another one of your sweet treats in this calendar (if there is one)!

    1. Thanks Mihaela!

Thank you very much for the crossword! The most interesting question for me has been number 25. I’ve read so many Austen variations that I didn’t even realize that about the original.

    1. When I learned that I was shocked too! I didn’t believe it at first!

    Thank you. I love puzzles.

  1. Great puzzle! I missed three-the one about the servant at Netherfield was the hardest. Thanks for sharing!
