Advent Calendar Day 12: Sleigh Ride! Behind the Scenes Video Tour

I must offer my deepest apologies to everyone! The post encountered some technical difficulties that took quite a few hours to resolve (and still aren’t quite complete).

I’m not quite sure how I accomplished this (I’m an author, not a video engineer) but the video went live… in 3D! I’m still scratching my head about that one. Meanwhile, the 2D version is underway, and you can amuse yourself by getting a very close look at my nose. (*SIGH*)

Thank you for your patience, and Merry Christmas!

-Nicole

Have you ever wondered what went into the preparation for a sleigh ride?

A LOT, I can tell you that. While I may not be the world’s leading authority on Regency house servants or winter wardrobe, I do have the inside scoop on some items you may have never thought of.

Join me, along with my four-legged co-host, as we explore the action before Darcy takes Elizabeth out on that romantic sleigh ride. Let us to the stables!

Well, I watched and enjoyed. A lot of information that I did not know. Thanks! Will look forward to watching the updated version.

    1. Thank you, Shelley! I’m still fighting with the correct version of the video. Nothing is working and the internet in our area is particularly bad now. :’-( I’m so glad you enjoyed what you did see!

What a beautiful horse. Thanks for sharing with us. I could just see him all decked out in sleigh bells and pulling through the snow. Lovely mental picture. Blessings, Nicole. Stay safe and healthy.

    1. Thank you, Jeanne! Yes, it would be fun to try that, wouldn’t it? I need to move to somewhere with more snow! You too, Jeanne.

Horses are such noble creatures! Thank you for the work you put into this and all the tidbits of information that most of us don’t know about! How many horses do you have? I think a horse drawn sleigh ride would be at the top of my list of things to do. I have been on a wagon with them pulling, but to sit wrapped in warm blankets and the bells jingling would be just perfect! Merry Christmas and a Brighter and Better New Year!

Thank you for watching, Carole! Yes, a sleigh is an amazing experience, and I wish we still used them as a regular thing. Merry Christmas to you!

I would like to try and ride a sleigh. Too bad it doesn’t get that cold here. So I will just enjoy imagining myself in it

    1. I have the same problem in Oregon!

There were two videos posted on the blog I just now watched…the beginning were the same so I only watched one. No sleigh ride but a lovely explanation about the horses who pull the vehicles. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.

    1. Thank you, Sheila! Merry Christmas to you as well.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge of horses. I had never thought about their feet and the ice before. Makes me realize how important those who managed the stables were.
