Thank you for playing, everyone!

I hope everyone had a happy new year! I lounged around and ate too much. But enough of that! Are you ready for story time? And how about the first giveaway of the new year?

Last week, I shared the opening chapter of Mr. Darcy and the Girl Next Door. That introduction set the stage for Elizabeth’s future back in 1804, in a discussion between George Darcy, Senior, and Mr. Gardiner.  Now, here we are, seven years later, and ODC are on a collision course for a reunion.

How the Giveaway Works: I will give away one ebook for every fifteen comments through out the next few postings. What does that mean? The more you comment, the more chances you have to win! I will tally all the comments on January 29, two days before launch, and announce the winners.

And also, if you share anything about Mr. Darcy and the Girl Next Door and tag me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ShortSweetNovellas) it triples your chances of winning!

Without further ado, I’ll dive in!

Looking forward to how she is reintroduced to the Darcy’s.

Last.week’s intro was a very nice draw in to this story.

    1. Thank you, Patty! I hope you enjoy the rest!

I can’t wait to read this! I have already pre-ordered so no need to add me to the draw.
Am also hoping the paperback falls under the $49 free shipping on Amazon as it is added to my paper back list too. (am a sucker for not a Bennet trope?)
    Congratulations!!!

    1. Oh, thank you, Sam! I don’t know how it works with the Amazon free shipping. I sure hope so!

Can’t wait to see Lizzy’s reunion with the Darcy’s! We all know Lizzy doesn’t take slights lightly so George basically ignoring her will definitely be brought up! Thanks for sharing and the giveaway!!

    1. Yeah, she’s going to demand some answers, isn’t she?

Our poor girl. So young and already so disappointed and cynical with the world. 😢

    1. Yeah, she has a lot of questions she needs answers for, doesn’t she?

Pre-ordered, so no need to enter me into the giveaway. I’m excited to read this all at once. 2024 looks great already!

    1. Thank you, Marie! Yes, there are a lot of fun books lined up already, aren’t there?

Poor Elizabeth! She seems to be feeling somewhat adrift! I do hope she’s NOT still pining for George, as he’s obviously not giving her a thought. I think what she needs is to meet a tall, dark, handsome man by the name of Fitzwilliam Darcy and fall in love (although I suppose that won’t be instantaneous? 🤔😳)
I don’t suppose these excerpts will get as far as chapter 20? Oh well I’ll find out her parentage when I read it! 🥰🥰

    1. You pinned it, Glynis! She needs our boy, but neither of them has any idea yet.

    1. Guess we’ll have to see what happens, right, Ginna?

I can not wait …. Lizzy not a Bennett and in love with FD younger brother. Who is already engaged to someone else. Poor Lizzy. I love that FD is so loyal to his father’s ideas and would do anything to see them through.

    1. Poor Lizzy indeed! Darcy’s going to be feeling pretty sorry for his own self before it’s all over. 😉

  1. What a tease.. i love it! Im quite intrigued to find out whether Elizabeth is a high born by blow hidden by George Darcy, and if Fitzwilliam knows the truth before he falls for her. Most significantly, when does Gardiner read the documents and reveal the truth to her??? I’m all agog

    1. Oooh, I can’t wait to find out, either!

      Did I say that? ;-P

What a wonderful Darcy: strong and dynamic, a take no prisoners type of man! And he has a younger, scoundrel brother – a favourite trope. Excellent! Can’t wait to see where this is going …

Enticing! Already thinking on the possibilities presented: George instead of Georgiana, brother George sharing characteristics of another George, and Elizabeth’s differences from her sisters being explained so adroitly. Eager to read in full!

It looks like Elizabeth has settled in well with the Bennets and Darcy has shouldered his responsibias master of Pemberley. I’m looking forward to reading how ODC meet again after so long a time.

    1. Yes, she’s had a good life with them, but boy… still some questions she would really like to have answered!

That sounds great. I’m curious about the first meeting of Darcy and Elizabeth and what will come from it. I can’t imagine at the moment…
I’m so looking forward to read the book. I read the two of the series and they were great. I’m sure to love this book, too ❤️

    1. Oh, yes, there is a bit of head scratching going on!

Very interesting! I hope I misunderstood what Darcy is planning for his brother Georges. Does he want him to marry Elizabeth? Big, big mistake… looking forward to reading the story.

    1. Ooh, yeah, probably not that, Rosa. Hang tight and see!

  2. It is good to know that Elizabeth has found a loving family that cares for her well-being. It must have been difficult and sad for her to be separated from the family whom she grew up with to a totally new family. I would like to hear what her thoughts were at that time, whether she understand why it must be done and if she knew the truth of her birth. I can’t wait to know more.
