The book goes on pre-order July 22 and will be available in ebook, KU and paperback. Audiobook will come at a later date.

“Mr. Darcy, I am eager to hear your explanation for the fact that quite a few people believe we are engaged.”

It starts with a bit of well-meaning advice. Colonel Fitzwilliam suggests to his cousin Darcy that, before he proposes to Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, perhaps he ought to discuss his plans with their families first.

What neither man could have predicted however was that Lord Matlock would write the news to his sister or Viscount Saye would overhear, and tell his friends. News spreads quickly through Hertfordshire once Mrs Bennet opens the express Mr Bennet receives from Mr Darcy, and in a matter of days, it seems like everyone has heard the news.

Everyone, that is, except Elizabeth herself.

Her refusal is quick and definite—until matters of reputation, hers as well as Jane’s, are considered. Then Mr Darcy makes another offer: summer at Pemberley, so that Jane can be reunited with Mr Bingley and so that he can show Elizabeth what a different man he truly is.  Elizabeth agrees to spend the summer at Pemberley with no intention of falling in love with Mr Darcy…but once she knows the man he truly is, will she be able to help herself?

And finally… here’s the cover! Hope you all love it as much as I do! Reminder to please comment below for a chance to win a gift card from amazon!

  1. Oooo–pretty….lol. I love it, Amy! I’ve said this before, but I’m looking forward to owning a copy of this story!

I love the cover! I just finished re-reading The Best Part of Love. It is easily one of my favorite variations. I can’t wait for this new release.

    1. Thank you Dara! This one is quite different from BPL — ie, you won’t have that “Amy just ripped my lungs out” feeling when you’re through! 😉

  2. Good-looking cover, Amy. I too look forward to getting a copy and seeing how Darcy wiggles out of this one. He may not be directly responsible, but he still has foot in mouth for telling family. I really want to see how he handles this without Elizabeth slapping him…at least. 🙂

    1. Thank you Gianna!!

Love the cover! I so much prefer the covers which is truly of the time period – whether from a painting done at the time or adheres to the style. I am not particularly fond of the modern attempts to capture a “Regency” image.
I am eager for the release.
    Thanks for this new story.

    1. You share my preferences Mary! I am a sucker for a curly font!

One of the very best covers I’ve seen in quite a while. It draws the eye to the book and it’s the first reason we/I select a book 📖 to read. The second is the plot. If I like both I buy the book. For me it’s like eating a good meal. I eat with my eye 👁 sight first so the food has to appeal to that first sense first before I taste.

      1. Many thanks Julie! I feel just the same!

This is a beautiful, beautiful cover! It’s well structured, it has fonts that show the genre, the color palette and the images are so fitting. I particularly like the postures of the two women talking.
    Whoever designed it: Well done!

And great blurb: I’m looking forward to see how on earth Darcy will fix this mess. 😉

Wonderful cover, the regency gowns of the woman are so lovely. The conversation between the friends are very lively because they are sitting together without a care for the world. No stiff sitting without using the back of a chair.

What is in the letter? that is in her hand? It is Lizzy talking to Jane? Perhaps it is Lizzy and Charlotte. Lovely, simply lovely. Amy, I am so excited about your new launch. It goes on my list. I wish you all manner of success. Blessings on the launch my dear.

Lovely cover, Amy. I’ve convinced myself that Jane is the one in pink holding the letter because she seems so calm and perhaps bemused, while Lizzy (in blue) appears quite animated in expressing whatever is on her mind (as usual). Unfortunately, the depiction of Pemberley on Shannon Winslow’s books has spoilt me and I have that image of the house in my mind. The way it looks on your cover is somewhat different – it appears that the house is in the middle of the lake! Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion of how they think Pemberley looks so I won’t let that deter me from getting your book. I will read just about anything that is based on Pride and Prejudice – my absolutely favorite book since high school (I am in my 60s now).

    1. Thanks Kimberly!

    2. Thank you Sonia! The house is a bit hidden… I think what you see on the bottom is a fence and it is indeed around a lake!

    1. That would be a question for my designer and I’m ashamed to say I have no clue! I just knew I liked it and it sort of conveyed that “holiday at Pemberley” feeling I was going for!

I’ve also found that through reading all of your works, this is the one I personally like the best. I hope that others agree with me. A Lady’s Reputaion has the best mix of all the elements that make a story good–plot twists, unpredictability, moderate angst, romance, humour, interesting characters, satisfying closure, &c, &c! I love what I’ve read of your story so far Amy, as I’ve loved all of your works so far.

This cover is gorgeous and as soon as I saw it, I said to myself “I know exactly where the view is in the painting that forms the bottom part of it.” It’s a place not far from where we live and have visited many times. It’s a view over the lake in the Studley Royal Water Gardens, part of the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey, owned by the National Trust here in North Yorkshire. I’ve even tracked down a web page that features the painting:

The painting is the second picture down.

Apologies! Somehow my comment has gone in as a reply rather than by itself at the bottom of the screen, so I’ve copied it and added it below as well.

What a beautiful cover for your book. I love it too. I read your chapter 3 when you posted it on FB and was blown away. It was torture not to be able to read on…can’t wait for July and the book’s release.
Must check out your novels <3

    1. Aw thanks Diana!

Lovely cover and fabulous plot. I cannot wait to read how the story will unfold.

    1. Thank you Elin! Bit different from my usual fare… I consider it the first true romance I’ve ever written!! 🙂

I saw this story on a fan fiction site don’t remember which one I loved it can’t wait to read again and add to my collection.

    1. Thank you Gail! Must have been AHA — but this version is cleaned up and tweaked, a much better story I promise!

I think this cover is beautiful. I love the covers that are paintings rather than the ones that put real people on the cover. Please continue to use this type of artwork.

    1. You and I share a preference Pat! Thank you so much!

Always love your stories and the cover is stunning. Looking forward to adding this story to my collection. I have read it twice but will be nice to have with my Kindle.

    1. Thanks Linny! I think you’ll enjoy the polished up version even more!

  6. What an amazing and beautiful cover, Amy. I’m glad that you choose a classical painting rather than use contemporary models wearing Regency clothing. I’ve seen so many covers using the same stock images that it is boring to look at them.

    1. Thank you!

As my previous attempt at commenting has somehow gone in as a reply to someone else’s comment, I’m adding it again here!

I love what I’ve read of your story so far Amy, as I’ve loved all of your works so far.

The whole cover is gorgeous and as soon as I saw it, I said to myself “I know exactly where that view is!” It’s a place not far from where we live and have visited many times. It’s a view over the lake in the Studley Royal Water Gardens, part of the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey, owned by the National Trust here in North Yorkshire. I’ve even tracked down a web page that features the painting and has a little of the history of the gardens:

The painting is the second picture down. We actually saw the lake when it had been drained and in the process of being restored to its original state. I know one or two people, including yourself Amy, who’ve been interested as to where the painting depicts. Now you know!

    1. Oh my goodness Anji I am so excited you showed me that article — very cool, I love that!
I always joke to my husband that if I had a superpower I would like the ability to look at things and see how they were in the past so this is just perfect (OK weird super power I know!)
      Thank you!

I’m so pleased you liked it, Amy. In the painting, what looks like a white fence is actually a stone balustrade. Nowadays, there is a tearoom behind the right hand side of it and you can sit outside, just behind the balustrade and enjoy lunch, or just tea or coffee and a piece of cake, whilst enjoying the view over the lake.

It’s lovely! Who couldn’t immediately think of Lizzy and Jane having a conversation about men, life, marriage, love or just about anything else. Very much looking forward to reading the whole story. 🙂
