Advent Calendar Day 23: Fun and Games!

Hi all! Welcome to day 23 of our Advent Calendar! For today’s treat, we have a word puzzle (Austen themed, of course) and a giveaway! But I thought it might be fun to kick things off with some of my favorite Austen-related memes. 🙂 Enjoy!

I hope those gave you a good chuckle! And now for the “game” portion of the post, I offer you a Pride & Prejudice word search! Click HERE to play!

And last, but certainly not least, I will be giving away one copy of my debut novel To Conquer Pride (Kindle or Audiobook, winner’s choice)! To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is comment below and tell me something fun you’re planning to do (or have done) this holiday season. 🙂 Winner will be randomly drawn on January 1st and announced on the JAV Facebook page on January 2nd!

Best of luck! Until next time, I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season and a healthy, safe, and happy new year.

JA

I enjoyed the word search thank you. Please don’t enter me in the giveaway as I have this book and I don’t have audiobooks.
I’m not going anywhere over Christmas but will Skype my son, his wife and their 4 year old twins on Christmas Day. I’ll also Skype my daughter’s family at some point over Christmas, they’re in Australia so time difference is often a problem 😢
Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄🎄

    1. Glad you enjoyed the word search, Glynis! Thank goodness for modern technology so that we can at least see our friends and family virtually. Though, yes, the time difference to Australia must be difficult! Wishing you and your family a very happy festive season. 🙂

jigsaw puzzles and ride my horse

    1. Yes, I think the jigsaw puzzle business is booming! I did one with my family over Thanksgiving and it was HARD! I guess I need to practice more to get truly proficient. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by to read, and best of luck with the giveaway!

What a fun word search! Thanks so the opportunity! Merry Christmas!

    1. Thanks, Debra-Ann! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 I actually thought it was a little hard. I mean, I made the thing and I was still having trouble finding some of those words! I hope you and your family are enjoying a very happy holiday season and best of luck with the giveaway!

I read the book years ago, probably more than once; it’s part of my PB collection. Since my vision has worsened, I’d certainly enjoy winning the audiobook version.

    1. Thanks, Betty! I’m so glad you enjoyed the book. Best of luck with the giveaway!

Does it say something that ‘Caroline’ was the last word I found?

    Stay warm and read.

    1. LOL! 🙂 Staying warm and reading sounds just about perfect to me. If I didn’t have a book to finish writing, that’s what I’d be doing. 😉

Word Search is printed and will enjoy find the answers. My bridge group has played a few times a week during covid. It is a virtual bridge game, but we are also FactTiming so we get that social interaction. We give small gifts at a Christmas lunch, but this year we have driven them to each other. Their friendship has meant much to me especially since I will not be with my family this year. Although I have the book, I would love to have the audiobook so I can listen to it as I walk. Thank you for the giveaway.

    1. Thanks, Eva! That sounds lovely. I’m glad you’ve been able to stay connected with friends, even if it’s virtually. Best of luck with the giveaway!

Thanks for the puzzle. I really enjoyed it. As for something fun for Christmas, my husband and I usually design a Christmas card puzzle for family and close friends to solve. This year, my daughter has decided to spearhead this activity and created a very unique version of the 12 Days of Christmas. And so far, those that have reported back to us have enjoyed the challenge. I’d like the Kindle version of your book if I am chosen.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

    1. Thanks, Laura! I’m glad you enjoyed the puzzle. That sounds like such a fun idea! And so great that your daughter was able to take charge. 🙂 Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!

  1. Merry Christmas! I am looking forward spending Christmas Eve with our 6 month old twin grandbabies!

    1. Oh, wow! How fun! Boys or girls or one of each? And are they identical or fraternal? I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and best of luck with the giveaway!

That was fun! Please don’t enter me in the giveaway. I read and loved your book!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a Better & Brighter New Year to All!

    1. Thanks so much, Carole! Happy holidays to you and your family!

  2. These Advent Calendar posts have been so interesting and fun!
I’m really excited to try making a gingerbread house this year 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, NovElla! I’m glad you’re enjoying the posts. Are you making the gingerbread from scratch, or using a kit? I’ve never tried making one from scratch but I love decorating them. I hope you have a wonderful holiday. 🙂

We will be cross country skiing here in Alaska.

I was nearly cross-eyed, but I finished the word search. What fun. Don’t include me in the giveaway as I have the book and don’t do audio. Thanks for sharing those memes with us. They were hilarious. Hubby and I are staying in for the holidays. He is home from health care issues that put him in a step-down facility for a few weeks and a few more weeks in a rehab facility where visitors could only see their loved ones through the window. I am so grateful to have him home. Christmas will be quiet and peaceful for us but we are just thankful to be together. I wish you all the blessings of the season and a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

  3. I’ve really enjoyed this advent calendar. Thank you for brightening my December!
I’ve been enjoying virtual game nights with family and making gifts to deliver.

Went to a nativity play that was done at the church. It was cool as it was a drive-thru presentation which I’ve never seen done before.

We imposed Zoom participation in game-show-like series of silly, random tasks on my family on Christmas Day. Despite the groans, the goofiness seemed to brighten everyone’s mood. Happy holidays to you and yours!
