Mr Wickham’s Wanderings: A Trip to Kenwood

Friends, I am a gentleman with a reputation for being fond of a pretty face and in my day, I wasn’t the only one! My erstwhile editor, Catherine Curzon, knows a thing or two about the pretty faces of the Georgian era and she will be visiting the splendid  Kenwood House on 18th May to join Museums at Night.

You can follow in my footsteps and tread the hallways of this magnificent property after dark to the strains of lilting violins, enjoy one of the country’s finest art collections and hear some eye-widening tales from Mrs Curzon on the subject of the courtesans of Georgian England. This is a subject on which a happily married man such as I, of course, am but a novice.

Shocking indeed!

An evening at Kenwood House sounds delightful. The discussions of the courtesans of Georgian England would be very interesting if not intriguing. I hope we have another post on how this even transpired… along with photos. Thanks for sharing with us today. Mr. Wickham… you have been very helpful.

    1. I might gad along myself with the fragrant Mrs Wickham. I believe it would give her some ideas for our own abode!

Oh to wander the halls of Kenwood and admire the artwork…sigh. It sounds even more intriguing after dark. Mr. Wickham, I think you need to use a little imagination here. I’m sure Mrs. Wickham would enjoy it very much. Just think of the alcoves..

    1. Oh, I am thinking of them, dear lady, believe me.

Oh! Kenwood house is my favourite place in London! I wish I could be there and listening to a talk about Georgian England. Do dreams come true?

    1. One day, madam, one day!
