P&P: Behind the Scenes – Darcy Reflects on Elizabeth — 17 Comments

  1. Darcy thinks he’s in control of himself. Surely he thinks so as he stands there imagining Miss Elizabeth Bennet in everything he sees from the window. Little does he know that soon he’ll lose control again. Foolish man! Got to love him for trying to banish his thoughts. Needlessly, he is thinking instead of feeling.

  2. Don’t you just love that man? Obviously he hasn’t read the book if he thinks he could possibly live without Elizabeth. Thank goodness for you and the other P&P authors who have not only read it but write such wonderful stories 😊

    • I think maybe he should read the book! Might teach him a few things earlier than it would normally take him to learn it! Thanks, Glynis!

  3. Poor deluded Darcy to think that spring can warm his cold interior caused by Elizabeth and that he can forget her in Kent. Hah! He has no clue. Silly, silly man. He thinks he has control and is at the end of the emotional roller coaster….it’s only at the start….Thanks for this missing scene. I love it!

  4. Who can control where the heart decides to alight? We can’t just look at a group and point and say, “That’s the one!” Wouldn’t it be so much easier for some of us? Darcy thinks he is tortured now – just wait until after he makes up his mind and find that Elizabeth has some opinions of her own.

Thanks for this lovely excerpt….I know I am late coming to the discussion.
