The audiobook for The Marriage Trap is here, and I am so excited to share it with you!
Harry Frost has done an amazing job on this story.

This is the Ramsgate one with a very inconvenient compromise, a seaside scandal, and a forced marriage. Darcy and Elizabeth try very hard to behave sensibly while absolutely nothing about their situation encourages sense.
To celebrate, I am giving away an audiobook code to one lucky reader–but only until Thursday before noon Pacific time!
For a chance to win, just reply to this email and tell me:
What is your favorite forced marriage or marriage of convenience story?
I will choose one winner at random just after noon on Thursday July 9th, and will contact the winner in the comments right after!
If you’d rather not wait, you can find the audiobook here: https://readerlinks.com/l/5517042
Good luck, and happy listening!
Melanie

I haven’t read many forced marriage stories, but I really enjoyed Being Mrs Darcy by Lucy Marin. Thanks for your kind giveaway. I’ll buy your story if I’m not lucky enough to win!

Thank you, Jo! That’s a really good one–I think it might have been the first FMS I read!
I’ll like any forced marriage if Harry Frost is reading! I prefer a forced marriage as Elizabeth and Darcy are saying that nothing happened. It is fun to see how they complain a little too much.

Oh, man, isn’t he just the best???

Hey, Betty! Thanks for responding!
There You Were by Michelle Ray might be my favorite forced-marriage story.
Other favorites:
Being Mrs. Darcy, Lucy Marin
Unwilling, Elizabeth Adams
The Seven Sins of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Julie Cooper
For Worse and For Better, Alexa Douglas
The Measure of Love, Alix James
A Lady’s Reputation, Amy D’Orazio
An Offer of Marriage, Amy d’Orazio
A Theft at Rosings, Renata McMann and Summer Hanford
The Journey, Jan Hahn

Ooo, what a great list!!!
I do not typically seek out forced marriage stories as they usually have too much stubbornness for my liking, and a cold/angry Darcy is a big no thank you. I lean towards ones where Darcy already has feelings/things are more forced/convenient for Elizabeth.
Favorite Forced Marriage Scenarios (for E):
“Suddenly Mrs Darcy” by Jenetta James
“Unwilling” by Elizabeth Adams
Favorite Marriage of Convenience Stories:
“So Material a Change” by Amy D’Orazio
“Nameless” by Julie Cooper (for E)
“A More Civil Proposal” by CP Odom (for E)
Thanks for the chance to win!

Danielle, you are our winner! Please let me know whether you prefer a US or UK code (I’m told the US works in Canada and the UK works in most of Europe). And I’ll need an email, too. Congratulations!!!
I’m glad you asked this question because at first I was going to say I have no idea, as I typically cringe with forced marriage tropes if, as another commenter said, there is an angry/cold Darcy. Or if there is just too much angst and not enough communication saying “yes, I actually DO like you a little.” And now I see a list by some others, and I was reminded of some that I actually have enjoyed. Like The 7 Sins of Fitzwilliam Darcy by Julie Cooper which I have re-read numerous times. Also, Foiled Elopement by Summer Hanford; I’ve read that at least 2-3 times and enjoyed it.
Thanks for the opportunity of a giveaway and I now have a list of other books to look into which others have commented about!

Love this trope and one of my favorites is An arranged marriage by Jan Hahn.

A classic JAFF!
Yikes! So many favorites with these tropes. But I’ll pick The Cost of a Kiss by Timothy Underwood and your “Her Whole Heart” (Sorry, I couldn’t help but pick two).
