Lucy Marin

Toronto, Canada

Lucy Marin developed a love for reading at a young age and whiled away many hours imagining how stories might continue or what would happen if there was a change in the circumstances faced by the protagonists. After reading her first Austen novel, a life-long ardent admiration was borne. Lucy was introduced to the world of Austen variations after stumbling across one at a used bookstore while on holiday in London. This led to the discovery of the online world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction, and soon after, she picked up her pen and began to transfer the stories in her head to paper. Her first novel, Being Mrs Darcy, was published in March 2020, followed by a novella, Mr Darcy: A Man with a Plan, in July 2020. The Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy was released in April 2021, an a holiday novella--Christmas at Blackthorn Manor--in November, followed by Her Sisterly Love in January 2022. The Marriage Bargain, a full-length novel, was published in April 2022. This was followed by The Truth About Family (January 2023), A Matter of Prudence (August 2023), and Mrs Bennet Makes a Match (October 2023). There is more in store for 2024!

Diversity in Regency England: Indigenous People From Canada

Hello everyone! I’m going to start this post a little differently by doing a land acknowledgement. In Canada, and elsewhere, land acknowledgements are used to recognise and honour the Indigenous people who live or have lived on the land we are currently occupying. It’s hard to believe, but my first book baby is now a toddler. Being Mrs Darcy was released two years ago this month, and to celebrate, it is getting a new (lower) price. Since this month’s theme is merriment, I decided to post a merry–okay, what should be a merry–scene from Being Mrs Darcy: Elizabeth …

The Darcys’ 15th Anniversary

Hello everyone! I wrote the following short story earlier this year and posted it online at A Happy Assembly as part of their 15th anniversary celebrations. I thought I would post it here too. In it, the Darcys celebrate their 15th anniversary at Pemberley. The story is entirely from Darcy’s perspective, and he is a …
