L.L. Diamond is more commonly known as Leslie to her friends, Mom to her three kids, and servant to her three cats. A native of Louisiana, she has been a wanderer for the past 20 years, living in Mississippi, California, Texas, New Mexico, Nebraska, England, and Missouri before settling in Maryland.
One day, Leslie may decide what she wants to do when she grows up but for now, she enjoys writing the stories that live in her head and coaching age group swimming. She has degrees in biology and studio art, certifications to coach swimming in the United States and Britain, and numerous fitness certifications. Leslie is also a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America. Her accomplishments include drawing, watercolor, and playing flute and piano, but much like Pride and Prejudice’s Elizabeth Bennet, she is always in need of practice!
After watching Sense and Sensibility with her mother, Leslie became a fan of Jane Austen, reading her collected works over the next few years. Pride and Prejudice stood out as a favourite and has dominated her writing since finding Jane Austen Fan Fiction.
Aside from mother and writer, Leslie considers herself a perpetual student. She has degrees in biology and studio art, but will devour any subject of interest simply for the knowledge. As an artist, her concentration is in graphic design, but watercolour is her medium of choice with one of her watercolours featured on the cover of her second book, A Matter of Chance. She coaches swimming and holds a variety of fitness certifications. She is also a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America. Leslie also plays flute and piano, but much like Elizabeth Bennet, she is always in need of practice!
YEAH for Stevie’s narration as she hits the right tone for each character that you forget that you are listening to her and you just hear the characters of the story. Audiobooks (US) are my favorite but there’s always times when a real book in front of the fire in winter is perfect. Thank you again for giving us more stories and I still love the cover that you have for this book, the blue is just stunning!

Ms. Zimmerman does have a great Darcy voice. I like that she has different voices for Darcy and Richard, and her narrating is clear. I haven’t listened to any books narrated by her before but think I would enjoy this (US). I’m glad Richard is making Darcy go to Cheapside, although I wonder why Richard is going.

Stevie Zimmerman could read the telephone book and have me glued to my Bluetooth speaker. Needless to say, as a narrator of JAFF novels, she has no peer. As mentioned by Gloria above, her individual voices for each of the characters envelopes you so you forgot you are listening to a book. The sample of “His Perfect Gift” whetted my appetite to hear her read the entire story. Although I have already read the book, my experience with others Stevie has narrated (US) is that it seems like a entirely new experience. I look forward to hearing her read your latest story which I greatly enjoyed (as I do all your books).

I was in the carriage with Darcy and Fitzwilliam and could feel the tension. The narrator enhanced the story rather than getting in the way of it as some do. You have a gem of a narrator. I would love to hear the rest of the book in her voice.

I have many Audible books narrated by Stevie Zimmerman and have long felt she is the absolute best narrator for JAFF boojs. Her voice characterizations are wonderful. Each voice is so different from anothers and over all the P&P variations she has done, the voices have remained constant. I dont know if you engaged her to do the narration of “His Perfect Gift” or the other way around…..the two together your book and her audio are a terrific combination! Thank you for giving me an opportunity to win the free audible version as I have already read the printed book and can say you’ve done it again….another great read! I live in the U.S..

Stevie Zimmerman’s narration can always be depended on to give a great reading. Her use of different character’s voice is consistent throughout each book and is faithful to each particular character throughout JAFF. I really love it and it’s dependability.

I’m a recent convert to audio books and am now hopelessly addicted. Stevie gets the voices just right drawing the listener in to the story perfectly. I absolutely loved the book and am looking forward to listening to it. (I’m in the UK)

I loved the story when I read it but the audiobook brings another dimension to your wonderful work! Ms Zimmerman is a brilliant reader who brings each character to life in an unique way. Just as a book’s cover can bring additional depth to a good story, and the gorgeous blue dress with winters details certainly did here, an excellent reader makes the characters come to life. I love audiobooks (US) and listen to many of them repeatedly. I am in the season of life when I spend much of my evenings driving my three too-young-to-drive teens to their non-stop activities and social events. My JAFF audiobooks help keep me sane! Thank you for this lovely story!

That’s a good time to listen to audiobooks! I stayed sane by swimming in the Masters lane while my children swam with theirs. I also learned to be a swim coach. I think I would’ve lost my mind sitting in the stands for hours on end. It was never a good place to be 🙂 Thanks, Catherine!

The first few seconds I thought that I didn’t like a lady reading the men’s conversation, but then – of course – I got completely sucked into the story. Now I can’t image anyone better, LOL!
I like that she speaks very clearly and is not rushing through the text. It still feels very natural as far as speed, but it give me enough time to understand every word…not like some conversations you can have with people on the phone and only catch about half of it…does that make sense?

YEAH for Stevie’s narration as she hits the right tone for each character that you forget that you are listening to her and you just hear the characters of the story.
