Pemberley: Mr. Darcy’s Dragon Ch 5 and a Giveaway — 66 Comments

  1. Such an intriguing story. I can’t wait to download the book tomorrow. Longbourn also is worried about the dangerous intruder into his territory I suspect. He must also hear the faint old voice.

  2. Oh, that was awesome! I believe that the description of his discomfort with company, and the preternatural hearing, are some kind of clue, but I’m not sure of what. I can hardly wait to read this book!

  3. OOO Love it! love It! Love It!
I don’t think Darcy knows how not to give offense. But now he may finally be willing to learn!
Longbourn will need to become a team player to locate that old voice, I wager!
I look forward to reading ALL the book !!

  4. Wonderful! Thank you for sharing…I also believe that Longbourne will be of assistance. It is very interesting to see the difference of how Darcy thinks a relationship with a dragon should be and how Lizzy’s is…look forward to reading the full story. Thank you for sharing a preview here.

  5. I think Longbourn does know about the other dragon and that’s why he went off in a huff. I also think he will reluctantly help Darcy find the egg. I really look forward to reading all this book and would love to win a copy so thanks so much for the giveaway.

  6. I think Longbourn will help Darcy, but begrudgingly. He most likely knows there is something amiss in his territory, but doesn’t want to admit it and make himself look weak. It will be interesting to see Darcy “properly humbled,” so to speak, and I hope Longbourn is the one to do it. Should be interesting — I’m dying to read this!

  7. I can’t wait for the book; in fact, I plan to gobble it up in the same manner of Laird Longbourn and his Rumblkins-provided rats!

I’ve already ordered my copy, so please withdraw me from the giveaway. But I just had to tell you how thrilled I am to read this book, Maria!! Yay!!!! 😀

Thank you so much for providing these five wonderful chapters for us, too.

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

  8. I don’t want to be left at this spot! I am still trying to wrap my mind around these dragons and how Darcy, especially, has messed up. I like how Walker talks and responds to Darcy I like Longbourn as he stakes his territory and lets Darcy know it. Thank you for the Chapters and thank yo for the giveaway. I would truly love to win an ebook.

  9. I believe Longbourn is protecting the old voice. And, finally, Darcy and Lizzy are forced to play nice! I pre-ordered the book, too.

    • I’m working on one on my blog with entries in Elizabeth’s Commonplace book. For now they will be blog entries. Later I may put them together and publish them. Thanks, Katherine!

  10. Either Longbourn knows what it is and refuses to say, or something will happen with the unknown “voice” and he will begrudgingly help with the egg. Very creative! Thank you for a chance to win.

  11. I’m totally hooked on this story and can’t wait to read the rest! I’ve pre-ordered and will be sure to leave you a review on Amazon. Best of luck with your book and thank you for the previews!

  12. Each creature is intriguing and I go and google it to get an idea of what they look like…Longbourn is most impressive. Maria…this book is amazing!

    • Thanks so much, Laura! I never knew how many kinds of dragons there were before I started researching for this book. It is a little funny how much research a straight fantasy has taken!

  13. I think Elizabeth will convince him to help. And if Elizabeth can charm dragons then Mr. Darcy would be a breeze! 🙂 This is a really cool story! Thanks for sharing.

  14. I too wonder if Longbourn knows more than he’s letting on. I love the different dragons, Walker and Longbourn’s characters are wonderful, but I believe the fairy dragons are my favourite so far and I’m sure they will have an important role to play later on in the story. I looking forward to reading the rest of the book and thank you for the opportunity to win a copy.

  15. I already have it downloaded on my kindle app…now just need some time to devour it! I think Longbourn will help, but quite like Mr. Bennet, he has to be pressed into it by circumstances unexpected.

  16. I can hardly wait to read this book! You can really immerse yourself into this story, and I’m looking forward to the changes to the original story to allow it to fit into this world.

Sadly it’s $39.16 on amazon.ca and only $14.99 on amazon.com. Unfair pricing! Our dollar isn’t that bad!

  17. Thanks for sharing this part with us. It left me wanting to read more of the story. I think Longbourn will help to find the egg because he is concerned for the continuation of all dragons. Thanks again!

  18. Love it! You are very clever to have created such a story! Well done. I immersed myself in the dragon world on Kindle and am really looking forward to the next parts!

  19. I loved this chapter! You have given the dragons such wonderful personality and dialogue! I can’t express it well enough how engaging this story is to me. Much thanks to you for writing, I am so pleased to read this piece of your imagination!

    • Thanks so much, Robin. I’m not quite ready to commit to a date right now–that’s a sure way to guarantee the book won’t be done by then. That being said, I’m hoping for first and third quarter 2017 for the next two books.
