Mr. Darcy’s Rival Launch — 133 Comments

  1. I just finished chapter 1 & I’m forcing myself to go to bed undated of continuing to read (since it’s after midnight & I need to go to work on the morning). I’m looking forward to making my way through the story.

Pirates & Prejudice is one of my favorite variations. It’s one that I reread often.

Congratulations on the release of Mr. Darcy’s Rival. I’m in the US & would love a signed copy of the paperback or the journal since I already have the Kindle version.

  2. Congratulations! I am in Canada so I guess I would be international. I can’t receive Nook books so I would love a Kindle version. Thanks!

  3. I am sure that I’ll love it as I did with all Your books (my favourite is Pemberley Celebration together with assumed engagement!) I want to partecipate x the prize and I’m from Italy, therefore International!! Best wishes x Your tour!! Barbara

  4. I got your book in ebook form already, as I did preorder. So exciting!! I have to also tell you that your Pirates and Prejudice is one of my faves I re read regularly. I would love a paperback or the journal! Thank you!!

    • Thanks for being one of the early buyers! So glad you liked Pirates and Prejudice, and I hope you’ll like Mr. Darcy’s Rival just as much!

  5. When you first put these pieces of this book on austenvariations.com, I was intrigued. I look forward to reading the entire book with Anne’s writings as well. Since you mentioned you will use some of her writings in this book, do you plan to release the entire set if writings as another book?

I am in the U.S. and would like the ebook for my Kindle.

    • Thanks, Patty! At this point I’m not sure if I will release A Peculiar Engagement in book form. It greatly needs work and expanding. But it’s not out of the question.

  6. I am so looking forward to reading this book. Unfortunately, I am so far behind on my TBR I am (embarrassing) reading Pirates & Prejudice now and am enjoying it so much. (“Too many books, too little time.”). I preordered Mr. Darcy’s Rival and it is on my NOOK (Kindle app). I would absolutely love the signed paperback as I am in the US. I have thoroughly enjoyed all your books with Assumed Engagement being my favorite at this moment (we’ll see if that changes after I read these 2). Thank you for writing.

book. I am in the U.S. and would love the PB,
    Thank you for the giveaway.

  8. Oh, this is fun! Fifty miles of good road indeed. After reading your description of thr bouncing carriage coupled with having to put up with a silly monologue, I am certain I would have been carriage-sick! Will have to read the other previews latee, as I am getting ready for work and haven’t fed the cat yet! Oh please, pick me!

  9. Congratulations on the release of your new book. I really like the book-within-a-book concept and look forward to seeing how the stories fit together. Thanks for the giveaway. I am in the US, so either the paperback or Kindle version would be great.

I am going to play the odds here and postpone getting the ‘Rival’ until your blog tour/contest is over. I live in the U.S. and would like a signed copy of the paperback or the Journal. …hugs ‘n kisses to your granddaughter (my first is due on the scene September first and I can’t wait to have my heart wrapped around someone’s tiny fingers!!!)

  20. Woohoo! You are one of my most favorite JAFF authors, and I cannot wait to read this latest title! Pirates & Prejudice and Darcy’s Voyage are two of my most often re-read Pride & Prejudice titles.
    I’m from the US. 🙂

Best wishes for a successful blog tour.

  23. I’m glad you have a new book out, as I enjoyed “Pirates and Prejudice” very much. Please enter me for the journal giveaway, as I will get the new book right away for my Kindle.

  24. Like others I have been reading and enjoying your posts of “Mr. Darcy’s Rival” and Miss Anne de Bourgh’s “A Peculiar Engagement”. I have most of your books in paperback…Pemberley’s Promise – that’s how old my first one is, as I know it has been renamed.

I am off to NJ today to babysit my granddaughter, 2-month old Mae Helena, tomorrow. So I know that joy…and exhaustion when I babysit all day….LOL (I now have 4 grandchildren, under age 3. How blessed am I.)

I would like a paperback signed copy if I am so lucky but this is one I will purchase if not.

  25. Congratulations on publishing your new P&P novel, Kara! I’ve read excerpts from A Peculiar Engagement and some of Mr. Darcy’s Rival. Like you, I have been quite busy lately after I started a new job so couldn’t visit here as often as I like.

As I’m international, I would like to try for the e-book. Thanks for offering the prizes.

  26. I have been reading your stories for so many years and have enjoyed everything you write! Such a treat to have a new story. You always make D & E so believable and come up with the most absorbing situations to throw them into. Love it!

I would be honored to receive any of the your giveaways. I have a Kindle and a HUGE paperback collection (almost everything I have in paperback I also have for Kindle so I am never without a juicy D&E story. And I think the journal is the cat’s meow! So cool!

  27. Congratulations on your new book, Mr. Darcy’s Rival. Looking forward to reading it now that it is on my Kindle. Miss Anne de Bourgh’s A Peculiar Engagement sounds great also. How many cradle engagements must have been established back in Recency England was known only to the fantasy of Lady Catherine!

    • Thanks, Susan! I was just going back to make sure I had every one entered in the giveaway and realized I hadn’t thank you for your comment! 🙂

  28. I would love to be entered for the giveaway for the journal as I’m using my B&N giftcard to buy Mr. Darcy’s Rival later tonight. Gotta wait for the bf to get home so I can hook his card up to my account because I can’t use the giftcard without a card being linked to my account. lol. I imagine that I’m going to love this book as I have enjoyed all your other novels. Keep up the good work. Thank you for the giveaway.

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

  30. Hi Kara Lou, I’ve read all of your other books, so now I need a new one to read! I was confused at first when you started posting “A Peculiar Engagement” but I think I’ve finally figured it out. Whew! Really looking forward to reading the whole thing, and I’d love to win a copy. I am US, and have no preference for paper or e-version; I suppose whatever you have hanging around will do. 🙂 Thank you for the giveaway.

  31. Comgratulations on your new book! I look forward to reading it, even if I don’t win a copy. 🙂

I’m in the USA, and I’d love either version of the book….paperback, ebook, I’m thrilled with either one.

  32. Woo hoo! Congratulations!! I would love to be entered for any of it!! I’m in Oklahoma, which some consider a foreign country, but officially still in the US. 😉

    • Thanks, Stephanie! Since I used to live in Kansas, just above that foreign country, I think that will be OK! (get it?) 🙂

    • You may have seen that we used to live in Wichita. St. Louis is not that far, but I miss the horizons! There are so many trees here! 🙂 I will enter you for the journal! Good luck!

      • I had missed that you lived in Wichita. I should have read more carefully. I live there now and have for many years. I would love to see St. Louis. Someday 🙂

        • We just moved here in 2013, had moved to Wichita in 1991 from Los Angeles. We really miss it. Our last 9 years there we lived out in the country above Hwy 254 in the north east part of the area.

  33. After what I have read, I would like to win both!! 🙂
    Have a great tour!
I am international, so it would be the ebook.
    I will follow the tour!

(this is the comment with the correct email address)

  34. Congratulations on the new release! I’m looking forward to seeing how you weave together the two stories we’ve seen posted here and as to how Darcy gets on, or otherwise, with his rival. Like a lot of the others, I simply loved “Pirates”. I think it’s my favourite of your books so far.

I’m international, so it’ll have to be the e-book for me.

    • Thanks, Anji! I don’t include all of A Peculiar Engagement in the book – it would have been too big! 🙂 So glad you like Pirates & Prejudice! Good luck the giveaway!

  35. Hi Kara Louise. Congratulations on the release of your new book! It’s on my wish list. If I enjoy it as much as I liked Pirates and Prejudice I’ll be a happy reader 🙂 Thank you for the giveaway opportunity. I’d like to enter the draw for the international ebook please.

  40. Kara! I wonder who showed you that cool journal {wink, wink}..ha, ha! I’ve purchased your new book on Kindle. I haven’t had time to sit down yet to read it, but I will tomorrow. You’ve had a huge response to your blog so far. Keep me updated as to how it’s going. BTW-went to the new Costco today that opened up here in Wichita this past Wednesday. They built it at the corner of Webb and Kellogg – what a traffic nightmare. Oh well, have a great weekend 🙂

    • OH! Never mind my fb message – this wasn’t here when I looked earlier! 🙂 I heard about the big traffic mess! 🙂

  41. Congratulations, Kara! I’m so eager to read it, and to see Lizzy’s reaction to Anne’s book. I’m in the US and would love to win either the book or the journal. Thanks!

  42. I am always thrilled to see a release from you. Congratulations and thank you for the giveaway. I would love a chance for either ebook or pb. ((US)

  43. Omg, I would love that journal, but I think I would be to hard for me to write in it. I would want to keep it all nice and untouched on the shelf! 🙂 Good luck with your launch!

  44. I know what you mean, Emmy! But let me tell you, I think I should have included a magnifying glass in the giveaway with it, as the text is SO tiny, which, I guess, is good because it is more like a line. 🙂
