Welcome to Jane in January and You

Happy New Year!

It’s hard to believe it is 2018. It seems each year passes more quickly than the last! But being January 1, we at Jane Austen Variations want to continue a tradition we have had during this month, and that is Jane in January.

We like changing things up a bit, however, so this year, in addition to focusing on Jane Austen, we are also focusing on YOU! Thus, we are calling it Jane in January and You. Last year we began a monthly feature highlighting and getting to know one of our readers. But we have so many, we thought this could be a way to get to know more of you.

So this month, in our Jane in January and You posts, the authors will be asking questions of our readers that has something to do with Jane Austen or her books. There are going to be a variety of questions, and we would encourage each of you to answer when you have the opportunity. That way we can get to know you a little better, and… there will be a giveaway associated with each JinJ&Y post. The gift will be determined by the author, announced in the post, and a name will be randomly drawn from amongst the commenters a week later. The winner’s name for each post will be posted on our facebook group page, as well as on the author’s original post. Just an FYI, most of the JinJ&Y will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but there will be regular posts as well. Look for the special JiJ&Y image at the top of the page.

As we begin this New Year, we want to thank you all for being such a special part of our lives. We hope 2018 will be a year of joyful blessings to you all!

Thank you. I look forward to the new posts. Happy New Year. My resolution is to try and read all the books on my kindle which I haven’t yet got round to, as well as all the new ones I will buy (and all the re reads I just have to do 😊)

Glynis, my re-reads are calling my name desperately!!! It’s such a pull on my brain. :/ I’ve decided that my re-reads are going to be rewards for attacking my TBR list this year. If I don’t do it that way the TBR will just continue to grow and grow because, how can I stop myself from buying new books??? And then I want to read the new one that is the current buzz word/work on all the blogs I subscribe to! Happy New Year Glynis.

Oh yes! I have certain books which I have to ‘re ‘re ‘re ‘re read! So I do the same and claim them as a reward for reading new books. (In fact I have some books on my kindle that have been waiting for over a year😱😱😱)
But as you say, more and more great books are published and ‘ oh yes I must read that one!’
Thank you and a very Happy New Year to you also Michelle.

This sounds exciting, and I’m looking forward to this month’s posts from JAV. I too have made myself a TBR book challenge for 2018 and have been compiling my list now, for the past week plus. Lots of JAFF on that list. A book challenge for the year is a new thing to me, but apparently it is not new to many others. Happy Healthy and Blessed New Year to everyone in the Jane community; all the authors, my fellow commenters, and the Jane blog masters!!

This sounds like fun. I have not really been commenting on any groups regularly for a while, so I am planning on being more diligent this year.
