Happy New Year and a late Merry Christmas! Although I had a wonderful holiday, my Jane Austen wishes were the paper doll sets and the figurines. Alas, I was not gifted them. I suppose I will just have to buy myself some presents!
So excited ab the scavenger hunt!

  1. Received a new Kindle to read all of my JAFF on. Also Amazon gift card for purchase of new books.

I received a Jane Austen coloring book – very cute. Also, my niece gave me a complete works of Jane Austen – the third one in my collection now, but the nicest. I will need to give away the other sets.

Thanks for hosting such a special event! I can’t say as I received anything directly Austen related this Christmas but I did get an Amazon gift voucher (always welcom) and the box set of Poldark Series 2, featuring the gorgeous Aidan Turner, who I’d love to see playing Darcy one day. My dream gift would be a copy of the Peacock edition of P&P but given the price they sell at nowadays, it’ll have to remain a dream, I’m afraid. I’ll have to content myself with items featuring the cover picture and the copies of the illustrations.

I agree that Mr Turner would make a perfect Mr Darcy! I’ve thought that since season one. The scavenger hunt will be a fun way to bring in the new year. I did not receive anything related to Jane Austen, but my daughter gave me Bryson’s The Road to Little Dribbling as she knows I am an Anglophile.

Seasons greetings. I had a great Christmas but didn’t receive anything Jane Austen related. I have my own Mr D’Arcy so perhaps a Jane Austen book would have been nice. X

Nothing actually Jane Austen related, but I did receive a ton of Amazon cards that will feed my Austen/e-book addiction.

What a sweet way to begin the new year. I received a Pride and Prejudice peacock edition pencil case and Jane Austen heroinebpencils that state ‘What would _____do?’ (Anne, Elizabeth, Emma, etc). A peacock framed page 50 of P&P, a book of CE Brock’s illustrations and amazing gift cards and signed book plates. My coworkers, students’ parents, and friends know me quite well.

Well I did not receive anything Jane Austen related but I am hoping to get a copy for the Walt Stillman version of Love and friendship so I can read it alongside Lady Susan by Jane Austen. Also I would like to view the Love and friendship film and maybe get the DVD to do that as I missed seeing it at the local cinema. Reading the screenplay would be great too. I did buy myself Pride and Prejudice behind the scenes and look forward to reading that on kindle. What a lot to look forward to looking at these in 2017 and exploring with this scavenger hunt. Thank you

  2. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive anything Jane-related for Christmas either, but I’ll be using Amazon gift cards to purchase Jane Austen books, movies and novelty items in the new year. And I use my beloved Jane Austen address book all year long!

I am lucky in that my friends know of my Austen passion and fill my Christmas stocking with all things Jane. I received purple Jane socks, a coloring book, and a Pride and Prejudice journal with the lines of the journal constituting the lines of the novel in tiny writing. Wonderful! I also finally received my short stays and spencer coat to wear with my regency dress at JASNA events. Can’t wait to stuff myself into the short stays and have a chest like a pouter-pigeon!

Very cool! I actually didn’t receive anything Austen-related but that’s okay my family doesn’t really know where to look yet 🙂 But I did use some of my Christmas money to buy some Austenesque books! So I have some good ones to read in 2017 🙂

  3. Happy New Year!!

I would have loved to get anything Austen-related but unfortunately I did not because my family does not know where to look hehehe

I will buy them myself 😛

Happy New Year! What a wonderful idea! I’m looking forward to it. (The first book I’ve read this year was a P&P variation! I had to start the year off right.) 🙂

  4. I received Visa gift cards, an Amazon gift card and a nice Barnes & Noble gift card. I am enjoying reading posts on favorite Austenesque reads for the year – – makes my wish list that much easier.

    Happy New Year!

I love Jane Austen and many other classic authors!!! Pride and Prejudice has given my life a whole extra dimension…a love of words and developing language!
For my birthday I received a dot-to-dot book containing heart throbs of the literary world! Mr Rochester, Mr Thornton, Mr Wickham and of course the wonderful Mr Darcy and many more!
I’m a well known lover of all things Austen and to win a new book would help cheering me after a pretty awful 6 months of issues with elderly Grandparents! I love them to bits but they’re hard work!
Happy New Year everyone! 🙂 xTx

Happy New Year, indeed! I received a generous Amazon gift card which I’ll be using to buy lots and lots of JAFF for my kindle. Your giveaway this time is a book I’d probably never get for myself, though I know I’ll enjoy it as a short and sweet novelty. Thanks for offering it!

  5. Happy New Year!! I wish everyone here a healthy and blessed 2017!!

I didn’t have a very Austen Christmas, but I did receive a new Marauder’s Map (Harry Potter) phone case, a lovely Steampunk-style essential oil locket (place a drop or two of essential oils on a felt pad and insert into the open-lacework locket. Smells divine! And it reminds me of one of the most imaginative Austen variations, Monica’s Steampunk Darcy), a necklace with an antique typewriter pendant, a new watch with the Hogwarts crest, a Doctor Who silver bangle, and a stocking full of goodies!

Happy Ninth Day of Christmas, everyone!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

As for something I received Austen related for Christmas was a beautiful brass & enamel ornaments of the bust of Jane Austen that my sister found in Washington, D.C this past September! It is going on in on my bookshelf with all my JA books, movies and JAFF! Thanks for the giveaways!

I received a P&P perspective shift book, “The Forgotten Sister,” which is from Mary’s POV. And I also received a necklace/pendant which is technically Shakespeare, but I’m absolutely certain Jane would appreciate it. It says “I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but I see you are unarmed.” I’m still giggling over it. 😀

Great post!! I had a wonderful Christmas with more gatherings at our house than usual. Somehow we kept it low stress. I received a small book with Austen Quotes and a Jane Austen mug. As I already had the book, I passed it along to an Austen addicted friend. The mug I will use…until I inevitably break it lol. I also got an Amazon gift card which will be reserved for JAFF, cuz I just can’t get enough! My new years resolution is to make sure I review books, though I may only review the ones I actually like, that might be kinder.

I received a copy of Regina Jeffers’ “Mr. Darcy’s Present” and Brenda Webb’s “Mr. Bennett’s Dutiful Daughter”.

  7. I had a list a mile long of Jane-ish things, but Santa decided to bring non-Jane gifts. I can’t complain, they were very nice gifts … but not Jane-ish. So I still have my mile-long Jane-ish list. Maybe Birthday Santa will bring me a few things for my birthday this spring. Hope everyone else had a very good (and very Jane-ish) Christmas and wishing you all happiness, health, and success in 2017.

We didnt really do gifts this year, we just agreed that some videos we bought would be our gifts to each other, so I ended up with a lovely DVD set of the BBC adaptations that I can’t wait to watch with my daughter.

Thanks for doing this, seems like it will be a lot of fun.

  8. Unfortunately I didn’t receive any Jane Austen related Christmas gifts this year BUT I did get an Amazon giftcard and it’s very likely it will go toward purchases of that nature – once I narrow down my wishlist.
