Death & Life – a sequel to P&P and The Three Colonels, by Jack Caldwell — 20 Comments

  1. Jack, I will have to re-read the Three Colonels as I have forgotten how well you write. That was so good that I will shout out three huzzahs ! HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!

  2. Lovely! I completely forgot about this piece, good to see a vignette about old friends. I love that the different characters deal with the crisis in their own way, and the subtle differences between the relationships of Caroline and the various Bennet girls. Surprising that she still calls Lizzy “Eliza”, while she regrets that their relationship is cooler than it might have been…

I hope your writing of the sequel Rosings Park is progressing well, not that I would want to be demanding just when you share something from this universe. Thank you!

      • Nope, not mean – I would not want it spoiled. Great to know there is a reason – it was kind of weird, because I like your redeemed Caroline a lot.

  3. The “three colonels” is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Thank you for this glimpse into the lives of the characters we adore!

  4. A wonderful story!! Thank you, Mr. Caldwell, for sharing it with us!! I’ve enjoyed all of your books, and this story is especially heart-warming!!

I hope that you were able to withstand the fearsome Harvey with no damage.

    Susanne 🙂

  5. Loved this! Like others have noted above, I am going to have to reread The Three Colonels. It is one of my favorites! Any date yet for Rosings Park?

  6. Loved it Jack! I will print it out and put with ‘The Three Colonels’…one of my favourite books!

Sorry I am late in responding, was climbing rocks and mountains in N. California…got back last night!
