Cover Reveal: CLASH

Hey everyone, I’m so excited to finally reveal the cover for my upcoming novella, CLASH here at Austen Variations. CLASH takes place after SWAY, but stands alone. If you haven’t read about Ava Elliot from SWAY yet, but want a fun, quick read, or an idea of my style, CLASH is the way to go. And in case you were wondering, Elizabeth Elliot is a modern-day representation of Miss Elliot from PERSUASION. I worked with the same cover artist who designed the cover for SWAY and she is fabulous! But before I show you the cover, here’s the blurb:

Planning a party is easy, falling in love is hard.

No longer content to be a Los Angeles socialite, Elizabeth Elliot starts her own party planning business: Excessively Diverted, making dreams come true one party at a time. She even knows how to handle those unruly party guests, like Antonio Reyes, the man who drank too much, insulted the décor, and didn’t know the difference between crudités and canapés. The nerve.

So when this same Tony Reyes demands she plan his daughter’s Sweet Sixteen, Elizabeth refuses, no matter how many dollar signs are attached to his name. That is until Elizabeth discovers her new business is in trouble. She must suck up her pride and work with Tony, despite how much she hates the man.

As Elizabeth gets to know Tony and his daughter, her clear-cut hatred starts to get muddled with feelings—the kind that could screw up the job, and her life, completely. She must decide whether risking her heart is worth it… but who has time for all that when there’s a party to be planned?

So without further ado… here’s my cover!

What do you think? I love the couple back-to-back because that’s so Beth and Antonio, plus I love the bubbles throughout because they look festive, which is perfect for Beth’s job as a party planner. Also, it goes perfectly with SWAY’s cover, which you can check out here in case you haven’t seen it.

CLASH will be available June 27th, but pssst….. I’ll be giving it away for free once I get my newsletter all set up, so keep your eyes peeled!

I, unfortunately, have not read your first book. It does sound good, so it now holds a place in tbr list!
I love the new cover. And yes, it compliments the first one.
    Congrats and good luck !

Appealing cover design, with the 2 of them now you have your own style. I like that there isn’t much detail on the people so it’s up to the reader to complete the portrait.

    1. When my publisher first asked about ideas for my SWAY cover, that’s what I said- no people face-on. So I ended up with the silhouette which my designer continued on for this book. Sometimes I hate when the face of the person on the cover doesn’t match how you see the character.

Congratulations on your new book. The cover is very telling. Even though they have their arms crossed and back towards each other, they are touching. Interesting.

Love the cover. Congratulations! Definitely on my TBR!

  2. Thank you! The one thing I told my designer is I wanted a couple back-to-back instead of facing each other like they do on Sway. Back-to-back but still touching is pretty spot-on, I think. 😉

  3. Very cool cover!!! Love that they’re back-to-back!! It matches Sway perfectly!!

Thanks for sharing your cover reveal with us, Melanie!!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

    1. Thanks! I think they do go well together and I’m already thinking ideas for book 2… 😉

    1. Thanks! She was a lot of fun to write because she’s not your usual heroine.

    1. Thank you! <3

  4. I couldn’t tell from the blurb whether this was JAFF or not, so it’s good to know that it’s a follow up to Sway. The cover really matches well with that one. All the best with your new book!

  5. The cover is stunning and it perfectly matches the cover for Sway. Does your last sentence means that everyone who sign up for your newsletter is getting Clash. Then I’m in. Sign me up!
