It’s COLLIDE’s Release Day!

Happy release day to me! Today is the day COLLIDE, my second Romance Revisited novel, comes out and I’m so excited! *throws confetti*

COLLIDE is inspired by Elizabeth Gaskell’s North & South. Here are some graphics I made up that give you some teasers of the book:

There are very few modern North & South retellings, something I think needs to be remedied because the original is such a great story. Plus, have you seen the movie?! I know we’re all Austenites over here, but Mr. Thornton is up there with Mr. Darcy as one of my favourite leading men. That smolder is everything. And Margaret Hale could give Elizabeth Bennet a run for her money in the comeback category. Despite the time period difference, I’d love to see those two as friends! (*story idea!*)

If you’ve got time, head over to my website where I kicked off COLLIDE’s blog tour yesterday, and check out the other blog tour stops. There are excerpts and interviews, I talk changes and inspo, plus there’s a $25 Amazon gift card giveaway!

COLLIDE is available for $2.99 on Amazon,  Amazon UK, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and everywhere ebooks are sold!

Now it’s time to go celebrate my release!

Love the graphics. And after Darcy, John Thornton is my favourite character so this could he a winner 😊

    1. Thanks! I love John Thornton too, and I think there’s lots of room for N&S variations.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I had seen the movie but hadn’t read the book until this past September! I had read Ms. Gaskell’s ‘Wives & Daughters’ and enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to now reading modern or period variations/versions of North & South! I shall hope on over to your website…I totally agree about the ‘smolder’!

    1. I haven’t read any other variations yet either, but I have Nicole Clarkston’s NO SUCH THING AS LUCK and NORTHERN RAIN on my TBR as well as a couple by Trudy Brasure.

  1. Congratulations, Melanie!! I am a devoted Gaskell fan, having read all of her novels and her biography of Charlotte Brontë, so I am very much looking forward to reading Collide!! I adore Nicole Clarkston’s N&S variations, too, but a modern N&S story I have yet to read. I can’t wait!!

Heading to the Kindle store right now!! 😀

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂

    1. Thank you, I hope you enjoy it! I didn’t know Elizabeth Gaskell wrote a bio of Charlotte Bronte! I haven’t read anything other than N&S but I have seen Wives and Daughters and Cranford. They’re on my TBR list for sure!

      1. Just a warning, one that I was NOT given when I read Wives and Daughters: it is unfinished. Mrs. Gaskell died before completing the novel, but my friends who recommended it to me never gave me this vital piece of information, so I happily read nearly 650 pages and just when the romance seemed to be finally unfolding came an abrupt editor’s note, explaining Gaskell’s death and the path the novel would have taken, according to her notes.

I liked Cranford very much, but I preferred Mary Barton, actually, more than Cranford. I really want to read her Gothic Tales, but the Kindle book is beyond my budget. Most of her novels are available in free Kindle versions, including her Life of Charlotte Brontë.

Thanks, Melanie! I can’t wait to start reading Collide!

        Warmly,
        Susanne 🙂
