Jane Austen’s Advent Calendar — Day 19 – Mr Wickham’s Wanderings: Mr Wickham and Mr Lukis

George Wickham Writes:

Friends, as you may be aware, my erstwhile editor, Mrs Catherine Curzon, has the opportunity on occasion to gad about with theatricals. Amongst these is a gentleman by the name of Adrian Lukis who has, I am reliably informed, become somewhat associated with my humble self. What a lucky fellow he is!

It’s my pleasure to share with you today an exclusive Christmas gift of that self-same Mr Lukis giving us a little taste of his take on George Wickham. He is joined by the marvellous Caroline Langrishe for this performance in beautiful Bath, where the fragrant Lydia and I have made many happy memories. I do hope that you enjoy it.

Was this day 19 on the advent calendar? I didn’t get one for day 19.
I just read day 20 and this was the previous post.
I can’t believe Wickham is STILL telling that story and surely this isn’t Elizabeth? Darcy would never allow her to appear in company with such a scoundrel.

    1. This was indeed day 19, I hope you’re enjoying the calendar!

I’m absolutely loving it thank you. You can’t imagine how disappointed I was yesterday when I didn’t get the post, however all is right with the world now 😉.
Seasons greetings and a very happy New Year.

        1. And to you too, have a wonderful one!

        2. May your festivities be merry ones, dear lady!

He is as charming as you are Mr. Wickham. Now aren’t you glad that Mrs. Lydia Wickham is your wife…

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Enjoy your ‘gadding’ about!

    1. I could not be more thrilled, madam; have a most marvellous Christmas and new year!
