A sneak peek at December

We’re really excited about the fun theme we have planned for December. Austen Variations is going to turn into Jane Austen’s Advent Calendar! We’ll have our own online Advent Calendar, and when you click on the date, it’ll take you to a fun Jane Austen treat, activity, or story. And what better way to get in the spirit than a giveaway of Advent calendars of a stately English Christmas? We have two Advent calendars by Alison Gardiner up for grabs (US readers only, sorry!). Join in the Advent calendar spirit by commenting here for a chance to win!

The calendars are 8 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ inches. We’ll be picking winners on Friday, Nov 24 to allow delivery by Dec 1. And do come back on December 1 for Jane Austen’s Advent Calendar!

Christmas at Highgrove House Advent Calendar

Christmas at the Palace Advent Calendar

Edited to add: The winners of the Advent Calendar are Theresa M and Megan. I’ve sent you emails to get your snail mail address! I hope everyone comes back on Dec 1 for our Jane Austen’s Advent Calendar.

What fun to not only have a chance to win an Advent Calendar but, more especially, to have an only line daily Jane Austen Advent Calendar. I have always given my children, and now my grandsons, advent calendars so now I have a chance to have my own. Thank you.

It’s beautiful. Ii lovedthe srory about everyone being stranded at Bighgrove House . This is a lovely reminder. I have always loved Advebt Calendars. As a child I thought the days passed too slowly. Now I think they go too quickly.

How fun is that! And adorable, too! Both look tremendous 😉 I admit, I adore the idea of experiencing a Regency Christmas. I soak up those stories, JAFF and romance alike, come Christmas-time.

Advent calendars are almost an obsession of mine. Seriously, I spend more time picking out a new one for my niece, nephew and me than I do picking out a tree. These look fabulous!

I love them…as a kid we had them every year!!!! Love to win it!!!!

  1. Such gorgeous calendars. Advent is my favorite time of year…almost more than Christmastide. We’ve celebrated Advent as a family since 2001 and love lighting the Advent candles on our kitchen table and enjoying the goodies in the pockets of our cloth wall-hanging Advent calendar that my sister-in-law made us the year we moved into our home (16 years ago now).

These are so lovely and fun–crossing my fingers and wishing HARD!!

    Warmly,
    Susanne 🙂
